Myeik, Taninthayi, Pyigyi Mandaing gaining development

NAY PYI TAW, 25 Feb– Lt-Gen Tha Aye of the Ministry of Defence arrived in Myeik by air on 22 February. He was welcomed at the airport by Chairman of Taninthayi Division Peace and Development Council Commander of Coastal Region Command Maj- Gen Khin Zaw Oo and officials.
Lt-Gen Tha Aye together with the commander and officials inspected construction of dam for supply of irrigated water to farmlands in the Myeik Station and generating of hydro power. Next, Lt-Gen Tha Aye and party looked into maintenance of Taninthayi Bridge, road works between mile post Nos 54/6 and 54/7 on Taninthayi-Bokpyin motorway, and gave necessary instructions. At oil palm farm of Shwe Kanbawza Co Ltd, Lt-Gen Tha Aye oversaw oil palm plantations and presented cash assistance. He also presented blankets, clothes and gifts to families of Taninthayi Station. Then, Lt-Gen Tha Aye inspected maintenance of Tamokechone creek Bridge and placing of gravel and resurfacing of road section between mile post Nos 86/5 and 86/6 on Taninthayi-Bokpyin motorway, and gave necessary instructions.
At Point 1020 of Taninthayi-Bokpyin motorway project, Lt-Gen Tha Aye heard reports on progress in road works and construction of bridges presented by officials and urged them to complete the road construction projects in time.
Next, Lt-Gen Tha Aye met with departmental personnel, members of social organizations, townselders and local national races at the hall in Pyigyi Mandaing. After hearing the reports on progress of regional development tasks, Lt-Gen Tha Aye delivered a speech. At Pyigyi Mandaing People’s Hospital, Lt-Gen Tha Aye comforted the patients, presented cash assistance to them and inspected operation theater and medicine store.
Then Lt-Gen Tha Aye met with servicemen and their families of Pyigyi Mandaing Station and presented blankets, clothes and food to them. Afterwards, Lt-Gen Tha Aye visited Chaungmon oil palm nursery of Yuzana Co and gave necessary instructions to officials.
