Dailies to reach every village in Rakhine State

NAY PYI TAW, 17 Feb — A ceremony to open the new press of sub-printing house of News and Periodicals Enterprise of Ministry of Information and to launch the distribution of newspapers to every village in Rakhine State, was held at the house on 15 February. Minister for Information Brig-Gen Kyaw Hsan, Vice- Chairman of Rakhine State Peace and Development Council Col Soe Lwin of Sittway Station and Managing Director of NPE U Soe Win formally opened the ceremony.
At the ceremony, Managing Director U Soe Win presented newspapers to paper agents from 892 villages from 14 townships — 27 villages in Sittway Township, 92 villages in Ponnagyun Township, 79 villages in Kyauktaw Township, 94 villages in MraukU Township, 62 villages in Minbya Township, 53 villages in Pauktaw Township, 51 villages in Myebon Township, 88 villages in Rathedaung Township, 98 villages in Maungtaw Township, 78 villages in Buthidaung Township, 54 villages in Kyaukpyu Township, 51 villages in Yanbye Township, 36 villages in Manaung Township and 29 villages in An Township. After the ceremony, the minister and the deputy chairman of Rakhine State PDC cordially greeted those present at the ceremony. Measures are being taken to distribute newspapers to remaining villages in Rakhine State.
