YANGON, 3 Sept —The Management Committee for greening of 30-mile radius of Yangon City held its meeting at Yangon Command Headquarters this afternoon. Chairman of the Management Committee Chairman of Yangon Division Peace and Development Council Commander of Yangon Command Brig-Gen Win Myint delivered a speech.
He spoke at length on cultivation of monsoon and summer paddy, cold season crops, vegetables, oil crops, physic nut and maize in four regions for exceeding the targets with the assistance of departments and enterprises, use of modern farm equipment and extended cultivation of oil crops.
Secretary of the Management Committee Managing Director of Myanma Perennial Crops Enterprise U Kyi Win reported on region-wise cultivation of monsoon and summer paddy, cold season crops, vegetables, oil crops and physic nut and arrangements for availability of water.
Next, those in-charge of the zones reported on progress of work and Secretary of Yangon Division Peace and Development Council U Hla Soe on transformation of manual farming of mechanized one, use of quality strains, educating the farmers and extended cultivation of oil crops.
Chairmen of District Peace and Development Councils, departmental officials and chairmen of support committee reported on implementation of the tasks.
The meeting came to a close with the concluding remarks by the commander.
