Progress of Ngawun Bridge (Myokwin) Project, preventive measures against floods inspected in Hinthada, Zalun

NAY PYI TAW, 11 July — Accompanied by Chairman of Ayeyawady Division Peace and Development Council Commander of South-West Command Brig-Gen Kyaw Swe and officials,
Maj-Gen Ko Ko of the Ministry of Defence inspected progress of Ngawun Bridge (Myokwin) construction project in Hinthada Township on 9 July. Ngawun Bridge is being built with reinforced concrete beams and frames. The bridge will be 2,835 feet long and 34 feet wide, and it will withstand 60-ton loads. So far, the construction of the main bridge has completed by 90 per cent and the approach bridge by 50 per cent. Maj-Gen Ko Ko inspected Water Sentry Post No. 2 of Ngawun embankment and U Par Ye embankment in Hinthada and gave instructions on maintenance of the embankments. While in Hinthada, they paid homage to U Par Ye Pagoda.
Next, they inspected maintenance of U Moe Lay embankment in Hinthada and Hsandan embankment in Hsandan Ward of Zalun.
