Lt-Gen Myint Swe donates alms to Sayadaws at provision offering ceremony of Tatmadaw families

YANGON, 17 July — Families of Defence Services (Army, Navy and Air) and wellwishers offered
alms and cash to the funds of 22 monasteries and five nunneries, at Tawtaik Dhamma Yeiktha Monastery in Tawtaik Ward in Mingaladon Township this afternoon, attended by Lt-Gen Myint Swe of the Ministry of Defence.
Lt-Gen Myint Swe donated Waso robes and alms to the State Ovadacariya Tawtaik Dhamma Yeiktha Monastery Sayadaw.
Chairman of Yangon Division Peace and Development Council Commander of Yangon Command Brig-Gen Win Myint, Vice-Mayor Col Maung Pa, senior military officers and officials presented provisions to members of the Sangha.
Three senior military officers, on behalf of families of Defence Services (Army, Navy and Air), donated rice, edible oil, salt and gram to members of the Sangha and nuns. The commander offered alms donated by Yangon Division PDC to the Sayadaw.
Wellwishers also donated cash and kind to the Sayadaw. Furthermore, Lt-Gen Myint Swe, Commander Brig-Gen Win Myint, Vice-Mayor Col Maung Pa and senior military officers accepted K 8,676,000 for the funds donated by wellwishers.
