Meritorious deeds performed at religious sites in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon

YANGON, 17 July — Today is Fullmoon Day of Waso (Dhammaçakka Day), 17 July, when Buddhist people performed meritorious deeds at religious buildings and practised meditation. The pagoda board of trustees organized the Waso robe offering ceremony at Shwedagon Pagoda on Fullmoon Day of Waso 1370 ME. Responsible persons donated meals to members of the Sangha and offered Shwekyar robes to four Buddha images at prayer halls and Padamyar Myatshin Buddha Image on the upper terrace.
At Sule Pagoda, members of the pagoda board of trustees, religious associations, wellwishers and staff donated Waso robes to the Buddha images on the platform of the pagoda.
Nayaka Sayadaw Bhaddanta Vasava of Seikkan Township invested the Precepts at the congregation. In the afternoon, Yesagyo Sayadaw Tipitakadhara Dhammabhandagarika Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Vayaminda of Dagon Myothit (East) Township and Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Bhaddanta Garava of Monywa administered Desana.
The Waso robe offering eremony and Dhammapuja ceremony were held at Kaba Aye Pagoda this afternoon. Members of the Pagoda Board of Trustees offered Waso robes to Buddha images
in the Gandakuti building.
