The government has laid down and is implementing the 24 special development zone project, the border area development project and the five rural development project to bring about harmonious development the length and breadth of the nation for improvement of the socioeconomic status of the people and for human resources development.Smooth and secure transport plays a pivotal role in the process of bringing about national development. The government has been implementing projects for development of border areas and national races that lagged behind in development owing to the evil legacy of colonialists. In this regard, it has built a network of roads and bridges for ensuring better transport and forging national unity.Nantsalein creek bridge, which is situated between Khamti Township and Lahe Township in Khamti District, Sagaing Division was commissioned into service on 16 January. The bridge plays an important role in the development of the region.In the past, Lahe Township was of difficult access due to poor transport. At present, with the emergence of the bridge, local people of the region can travel from one place to another, thereby getting them to be oneness with those from other regions.Making better use of the facility, local people will be able to transport goods from their region to other regions and to fully engage in the development of agriculture and livestock breeding sectors.The government spent a large amount of funds on regional development with the aim of further strengthening Union Spirit and consolidating of national unity. With this end in view, the onus is on the entire people to strive together with the government for the emergence of a peaceful, modern, developed and discipline flourishing democratic nation.
