Kyaing, Vice-Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and wife Daw Mya Mya San hosted reception and dinner to mark the 61st Anniversary Independence Day at the City Hall here this evening.At 6.30 pm, Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and wife Daw Mya Mya San arrived at the City Hall where reception and dinner to mark the 61st Anniversary Independence Day was to be hosted. Accompanied by member of the State Peace and Development Council General Thura Shwe Mann of the Ministry of Defence, Prime Minister General Thein Sein, Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Thiha Thura Tin Aung Myint Oo, Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and wife cordially greeted
diplomats led by Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China Mr Guan Mu and their spouses.Also present at the reception and dinner were member of the State Peace and Development Council General Thura Shwe Mann of the Ministry of Defence
and wife Daw Khin Lay Thet, Prime Minister General Thein Sein and wife Daw Khin Khin Win, Secretary-1 of the SPDC Lt-Gen Thiha Thura Tin Aung Myint Oo and wife Daw Khin Saw Hnin, members of the SPDC and their wives, the Commander-in-Chief (Navy), the Commander-in-Chief (Air) and senior military officers of the Ministry of Defence and their wives, the Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, the ministers and their wives, the Chief Justice, the Attorney-General, the Auditor-General, the Chairman of Civil Service Selection and Training Board, the Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee Nay Pyi Taw Mayor, the deputy ministers and their wives, the directors-general of the State Peace and Development
Council Office, the Government Office, the President Office, the Pyithu Hluttaw Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, diplomats led by Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China Mr Guan Mu and their spouses, resident representatives of UN agencies and their wives, members of the Central Committee for Observance of the 61st Anniversary Independence Day, chairmen of the subcommittees and invited guests.
Before and during the dinner, those present were entertained with songs presented by vocalists to the accompaniment of the Myanma Athan modern music band.
