PRC, Myanmar cooperating in various economic fields strengthening bilateral ties




Governor of FujianProvince Mr Huan Shao Xin paid a courtesy call onPrime Minister of the Union of Myanmar GeneralThein Sein at Mandarin Grand Ballroom on the firstfloor of Yeohwa Hotel in Xiamen, Fujian Province, at6 pm on 19 April.At the call, the Prime Minister was accompaniedby Minister for Foreign Affairs U Nyan Win, Ministerfor National Planning and Economic Development USoe Tha, Minister for Communications, Posts andTelegraphs Brig-Gen Thein Zaw, MyanmarAmbassador to the People's Republic of China UThein Lwin, Director-General of the GovernmentOffice Col Thant Shin, Director-General of the ProtocolDepartment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs U KyawKyaw, Director-General of the Political Department UKyaw Tin and officials.The Governor of Fujian Province was accompaniedby Member of the Permanent Committee of the ProvinceParty Secretary of Xiamen Party Mr Ha Li Pon, Vice-Governor Mr Huang Xiaojing, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Ye Dabo,the Mayor, the DeputyGeneral Secretary ofFujian ProvinceGovernment Office, theDirector-Geneal of theForeign Affairs Office, theVice-Chairman of theProvince Developmentand Reform Committeeand officials.The governorextended greetings.In his speech, PrimeMinister General TheinSein said that Myanmarand China share a longborder; that the twocountries maintain thegood neighbourly relationsin line with the FivePrinciples of PeacefulCoexistence; that the twocountries are cooperatingin the economic fields ofoil and gas exploration;hydropower, and mining;that the cooperationbenefits the friendlyrelations between the twocountries; and Myanmaralways supports the OneChina Policy. He gave anaccount of the politicaldevelopment of Myanmar.The governor said thathe is glad to learn that thegovernment is workinghard for improving thesocio-economic life of thepeople and nationaleconomic growth; thatFujian Province has aninterest in economiccooperation withMyanmar; and that it willtry to boost bilateraleconomic cooperation.Then, the governorhosted dinner in honourof the Myanmardelegation.
