Myanmar, Thai specialists provide ear care services

NAY PYI TAW, 27 Nov—Minister for Health Dr Kyaw Myint, together with Deputy Minister Dr
Mya Oo, viewed the joint treatment of Myanmar and Thai surgeons at Department of Eye, Ear,
Nose, Throat, Plastic, Maxillo-facial and Oral Surgery of Nay Pyi Taw People’s General Hospital
(1000-bed) on 25 November.
At the hall, the minister and party met with leader of Ear Surgery Mobile Unit of Thailand Prof Soontom Antarasena and held a discussion with Thai Ambassador Mr Bansarn Bunnag on
Myanmar and Thai health matters.
An eight-member ear surgery team led by Prof Dr Thein Tun and the 18- member Thai ear surgery team led by Prof Soontom Antarasena are providing ear care services at Nay Pyi Taw People’s General Hospital and Nay Pyi Taw Pyinmana People’sHospital.
The Thai ear treatment team had jointly performed treatment with Myanmar surgeons for nine times. The team will give treatments in Toungoo and Maubin townships.
The Myanmar-Thai ear care team provided treatments to 545 patients at Nay Pyi Taw People’s
General Hospital and 848 patients at Nay Pyi Taw Pyinmana People’s Hospital.
