Kamanat-Myaungdagar grid put into commission

The State Peace and development Council is making sustained efforts to extend production of electric power in order to catch up with the industrial advancements.It was not complacent about Lawpita Hydropower Station on the Balu Creek, and planned to implement many other hydropower projects. Of the hydropower projects approved by the Special Projects Implementation Committee, six have been completed, 22 are ongoing, and 15 need the green light of the committee.In Myanmar, generation of hydropower has surged from over 200 to about 900 megawatts.The majority of the ongoing special hydropower projects are due to be completed in a few years.
