US soldier dies of non-combat related wounds

BAGHDAD, 18 Dec — An American soldier died of a non-combat related injury in area north of
Baghdad on Monday, the US military said.
The incident took place near the Camp Taji, a US military base, some 30 kilometres north of Baghdad, the military said in a statement.
The soldier died of his fatal wounds after being transported to a nearby military medical facility for emergency treatment, it said. The latest death brings the number of US soldiers killed in Iraq to about 3,895 since the Iraq war broke out in March 2003, according to media count based on
Pentagon figures.—
